RETREAT OVERVIEW
A WORKING PROPERTY TURNED PRIVATE RETREAT
The entire property is yours for the weekend, from the beach and fire pits to the deck, the lawn, and the lake. Host up to 150 guests on a private lakefront property, tucked at the end of a quiet road on the shore of Idaho's largest and deepest lake. One hundred twelve miles of shoreline and nothing in the sightline but water and the Selkirk Mountains.
For the Couple WHO WANTS THEIR WEDDING TO FEEL LIKE THEM
For the couple who looked at the ballroom options and didn’t get excited. The couple who wants their wedding to feel like them: unhurried, unpretentious, deeply personal, and genuinely memorable. At The Retreat, the setting is unmatched, but the real beauty is what it makes room for: a gathering that feels easy, meaningful, and entirely your own.
YOU WON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
And They Won’t Forget It Either…
HOW THE CELEBRATION UNFOLDS
A Full Weekend, NOT A ONE-DAY EVENT
-
THE WEEKEND BEGINS
The couple, wedding party, family, and overnight guests arrive on their own schedule. No lobby, no check-in line, no hotel bar crowded with strangers. There is time to unpack, settle into your rooms, and explore the property before the weekend picks up.
By evening, the people who matter most to you are gathered in one place. Share a casual meal, meet for drinks by the lake, take an evening swim, or simply enjoy being together. -
TIME BEFORE THE BIG DAY
Wake up already at the lake, with a full day ahead of you. There is time for final preparations, a ceremony walk-through, an afternoon on the water, or a few quiet hours with family and friends.
By evening, gather for the rehearsal dinner on the lawn if the weather allows, or inside the Hangar with your own private bar. Afterward, linger over cocktails, soak in the hot tub, or spend a little more time under the stars. There is nowhere else anyone needs to be. -
THE DAY YOU’VE BEEN PLANNING
Coffee on the deck, then time to get ready without leaving the property. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all unfold here, in whatever sequence and configuration fits your vision.
Dinner under the open sky gives way to music, dancing, and the kind of joy that builds as the night goes on. When the last dance is done, your bedroom isn’t far. -
ONE LAST MORNING ON THE LAKE
Guests enjoy a slow morning, brunch, and a final jump in the lake while everyone revisits the weekend’s best moments. There is time for unhurried goodbyes before friends and family begin heading home.
The celebration comes to an easy close, after a wedding weekend with time to arrive, settle in, and truly enjoy being together.
CEREMONY TO FIRELIGHT
WHERE The Celebration UNFOLDS
-
A dedicated room for getting ready together, with salon-style seating, lighted mirrors, and space to sip coffee or enjoy mimosas while the day begins.
-
The lawn, with the lake as the backdrop. Four hundred feet of frontage on Glengary Bay, the Selkirks beyond that, and nothing else in the frame. For shoulder-season or uncertain weather, there is generous indoor space: The Hangar seats 100, with more room in the Lodge’s gathering areas.
-
People naturally head out to the lakeside seating and fire pit areas. The Hangar accommodates 100 or more with a private bar inside, and the pavilion offers covered outdoor seating when a little shelter is welcome.
-
Dinner can unfold on the lawn or inside The Hangar when the evening calls for it. Tables move when the dancing starts, with music piped lakeside through the Sonos system, or bring in a live band. The lake is never far away.
-
As the evening winds down, people naturally find their way to the fire pits. The lake gets quiet, the stories get longer, and no one is quite ready for the night to end.
